Dawn’s
Hide & Bead Away offers instruction in a broad variety of beading techniques
and media. Customers can easily gain the confidence they need to create finished
products of which they can be proud. Classes in stringing, wire working, and
seed bead weaving are available on a regular basis. Private instruction for
individuals and groups is available.
Open Studio: Every
Thursday from 4-8pm.
During this time you can get the benefit of Dawn’s experienced Staff
at absolutely no charge.
For those who qualify, the flame studio is available for $12—for up
to four hours of torch time. We hope you take advantage of this special time
each week to come bead, share techniques and get assistance.
The flame studio is also available for Open Studio on Sundays, from noon to 5pm when there is not another event in the studio.

Live music to benefit a local non-profit of the month. April's non-profit is KidsNeeds. This is an organization that assists children with disabilities, their families, educators, and caregivers. Music TBA.

Free Reception
Professor Christopher Roy, University of Iowa Professor of Art History and Elizabeth M. Stanley Faculty Fellow of African Art, will be available to talk about the African Art and Trade Beads at Dawn's. Professor Roy teaches courses in African, pre-Columbian, American Indian and Pacific Islands art. His research focuses on the art of Burkina Faso and West Africa. Please join us for this very special event.
Saturday, April 10, 10am to 1pm:
Feather Bracelet--$65
You've not worked daisy chain like this before. Use feather beads and crystals to make a flowing bracelet using a traditional daisy chain stitch. No previous experience necessary. Instructor: Karen Kubby
Saturday, April 17, 10am to noon:
Basic Wirework—Earrings--$54
Explore wire techniques incorporating attractive beading components. Solid instruction on the use of jewelry tools will assist you in making three pairs of earrings. You will receive encouragement in discovering simple yet elegant earring designs. No previous experience necessary. Instructor: Mallory Zapf.
Saturday, April 17, 1-3pm:
Basic Stringing--$54
Make two bracelets using a variety of beads. You will learn about two different stringing materials and when you might use each. Learn how to professionally add a clasp. No previous experience necessary. Instructor: Mallory Zapf.

Saturday, April 24, 10am to 3pm:
Beginning Precious Metal Clay (PMC)--$88
Learn to manipulate precious metal silver clay to create a textured set of earrings and a matching pendant. Techniques will be emphasized. No previous experience necessary. Instructor: Karen Kubby and Nikki Frese.
Sunday, April 25, noon to 3pm:
Wirework Project--$65
Join returning guest instructor for another wirework class. Details to be announced.
